Imani Winds

We are delighted to bring twice Grammy-nominated Imani Winds to Blue Hill for the final concert of our 2024 winter season. Imani Winds has epitomized and revolutionized the musical landscape of the wind quintet for twenty-six years. Individually and together, they are brilliant musicians and champions of underrepresented musical voices. The ensemble has a permanent presence in the classical music section of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.

On April 25, 2023, Imani Winds will be performing at Carnegie Hall, New York, New York, and on March 17, 2024, at 3:00 pm, Imani Winds will be performing at the First Congregational Church in Blue Hill, Maine! Members of the ensemble include founding members Toyin Spellman-Diaz (oboe) and Monica Ellis (bassoon), Brandon Patrick George (flute), Mark Dover (clarinet), and Kevin Newton (french horn). The video links below will give you a taste of their music.
